Corrosion Resistance

ASTM A234 WPL6 Pipe Fittings show good resistance to mildly corrosive environments, including moisture, steam, and industrial atmospheres. For enhanced protection, the fittings can be galvanized, painted, or coated, extending their lifespan in harsh service conditions.

Heat Resistance

These fittings maintain their strength and ductility even under moderate to high temperatures, although they are primarily used for low-temperature applications (up to -46°C). They are ideal for cryogenic pipelines, refrigeration, and low-temperature vessels.

Heat Treatment

ASTM A234 Gr WPL6 fittings are normalized, tempered, or quenched and tempered as required by specification. Heat treatment ensures improved toughness, ductility, and impact strength, particularly for low-temperature performance.

Welding

These fittings can be welded using all standard welding methods, including MIG, TIG, and SMAW. Preheating and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) may be recommended depending on thickness and service conditions to prevent cracking and maintain strength.

Fabrication

ASTM A234 WPL6 fittings are easy to machine, bend, and form using standard carbon steel fabrication techniques. They can be shaped or modified without compromising structural integrity, ensuring seamless integration in pipeline systems.

Applications

  • Low-Temperature Pressure Systems

  • Oil & Gas Pipelines

  • Power Generation Plants

  • Cryogenic and Refrigeration Systems

  • Petrochemical and Refinery Industries
