AISI / SAE 1045 Round Bar (UNS G10450)
AISI / SAE 1045 Round Bar is a medium-carbon steel widely used for its excellent balance of strength, toughness, and wear resistance. With higher carbon content than 1040 and 1042 grades, it responds very well to heat treatment, making it a preferred choice for shafts, gears, axles, and high-strength mechanical components.
Key Features
- Medium carbon steel with high strength and hardness
- Excellent wear and abrasion resistance
- Very good response to quenching and tempering
- Good machinability in normalized condition
- Reliable performance under moderate to high stress
- Cost-effective alternative to alloy steels
