SAE/AISI 1020 Round Bar (UNS G10200)
SAE/AISI 1020 Round Bar is a low-carbon steel widely used for general engineering and structural applications. With slightly higher carbon content than AISI 1018, this grade offers improved strength while retaining excellent weldability, formability, and machinability. AISI 1020 round bars are commonly supplied in hot rolled or cold drawn conditions and are suitable for mild heat treatment and carburizing applications.
Key Features
- Low carbon steel with good strength and ductility
- Excellent weldability and formability
- Good machinability in cold drawn condition
- Uniform mechanical properties
- Suitable for carburizing and case hardening
- Cost-effective for fabrication and mass production
