AISI 5140 Round Bar (UNS G51400)
AISI 5140 Round Bar is a chromium alloy steel with higher carbon content than 5130, providing greater strength, hardenability, and wear resistance. This grade is widely used for components that require good toughness combined with high surface hardness after heat treatment. AISI 5140 responds very well to quenching and tempering, making it suitable for demanding mechanical and structural applications.
Key Features
- Chromium alloy steel with excellent hardenability
- Higher strength and wear resistance than AISI 5130
- Good toughness after quenching and tempering
- Suitable for induction and flame hardening
- Reliable performance under dynamic and cyclic loads
