ASTM B167

ASTM B167 Nickel-Copper Alloy Tube

ASTM B725 is the Standard Specification for Welded Nickel and Nickel-Alloy Tubes, manufactured from flat-rolled alloy strip and welded using an automatic welding process, with or without filler metal.
This standard covers tubes intended for:

  • Corrosive environments

  • High-temperature service

  • Heat exchangers & condensers

  • General engineering and industrial applications

ASTM B725 tubes are widely used in demanding industries because nickel-based alloys demonstrate excellent corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and reliability in aggressive media.

Key Features

  • Welded Tube Standard: Applicable only to welded tubes made from nickel & nickel-alloy strip.

  • High Corrosion Resistance: Suitable for acids, seawater, alkalis, and chlorides.

  • High-Temperature Performance: Excellent strength & oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures.

  • Multiple Nickel Alloys: Covers Ni, Ni-Cr, Ni-Fe, Ni-Mo, Ni-Cu alloys.

  • Automatic Welding: TIG, plasma, laser, or multi-pass welding with bead control.

  • Quality Testing: Hydrostatic / Eddy Current / Mechanical testing mandatory.

  • Heat-Treated Supply: Typically annealed or solution annealed.
