Hastelloy C22 offers some of the best corrosion resistance among all Ni-Cr-Mo alloys, providing:

  • Excellent resistance to chlorides, sulfides, and seawater environments

  • Superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion

  • Excellent performance in oxidizing acids (nitric, chromic)

  • Highly resistant to reducing acids (hydrochloric, sulfuric)

  • Exceptional resistance in mixed acid systems

  • Excellent performance in wet chlorine gas, hypochlorites & chlorine dioxide

This makes C22 ideal for systems handling aggressive chemicals.

Heat Resistance

  • Retains high strength up to 1100°C

  • Superior oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures

  • Excellent stability during temperature fluctuations

  • Suitable for flue-gas desulfurization systems, high-temperature reactors & heat exchangers

Heat Treatment

  • Solution Annealing: 1121°C followed by rapid quenching

  • Enhances corrosion resistance

  • Removes residual stresses

  • Ensures metallurgical stability

Welding

Hastelloy C22 flanges are highly weldable using:

  • GTAW (TIG)

  • GMAW (MIG)
