Monel 400 Pipe Fittings

Monel 400 Pipe Fittings ( UNS N04400 )

Monel 400 Pipe Fittings are engineered from a high-strength nickel-copper alloy containing approximately 65% nickel and 33% copper, offering exceptional resistance to seawater, acids, alkalis, and harsh corrosive environments. Known for its excellent mechanical properties, Monel 400 (UNS N04400) delivers superior performance in marine and chemical processing applications where both high strength and corrosion resistance are required.

These pipe fittings exhibit outstanding resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. They maintain their structural integrity across a wide range of temperatures and are suitable for applications up to 1000°F (538°C). With excellent weldability, formability, and durability, Monel 400 Pipe Fittings are widely used in offshore, power generation, chemical, and oil & gas industries.

Corrosion Resistance

Monel 400 offers exceptional performance against:

  • Seawater & saltwater corrosion

  • Hydrofluoric acid and alkali metal hydroxides

  • Sulfuric and hydrochloric acids (under controlled conditions)

  • Reducing acids and caustic solutions

  • Pitting, crevice corrosion & stress corrosion cracking

It is widely used in marine and offshore environments due to its unmatched resistance to brine and seawater attack.

Heat Resistance

  • Suitable for high-temperature service up to 1000°F (538°C)

  • Retains strength and ductility at elevated temperatures

  • Excellent oxidation resistance

Heat Treatment

  • Annealing Temperature: 760°C – 980°C

  • Cooling Method: Air cooled or water quenched

  • Purpose:

    • Relieve stress

    • Enhance ductility

    • Restore mechanical properties

Monel 400 is not hardenable by heat treatment, only by cold working.
