Nickel 201 Pipe Fittings
Nickel 201 Pipe Fittings ( UNS N02201 )
Nickel 201 Pipe Fittings are manufactured from commercially pure wrought nickel with low carbon content, making them ideal for applications that require excellent corrosion resistance, high ductility, and exceptional performance at elevated temperatures. Nickel 201 (UNS N02201) is a modified version of Nickel 200 with a maximum carbon content of 0.02%, specifically designed to prevent graphitization at temperatures above 315°C.
These fittings deliver outstanding resistance to caustic alkalis, neutral salts, and reducing chemicals. They also exhibit superior thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, making them suitable for chemical processing, petrochemical, marine, and high-temperature industrial applications. Nickel 201 Pipe Fittings offer excellent formability, weldability, and mechanical stability for diverse critical service conditions.

Corrosion Resistance
Nickel 201 offers excellent resistance to:
Caustic alkalis (strong resistance even at high temperatures)
Neutral and mildly reducing solutions
Dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride gas
Natural and distilled water
Marine and seawater environments
Alkaline salt solutions
Low carbon content enhances its resistance to embrittlement at high temperatures.
Heat Resistance
Nickel 201 is ideal for applications up to 600°F (315°C).
Prevents graphitization, unlike Nickel 200, making it suitable for higher temperature environments.
Excellent resistance to dry fluorine and hydrogen chloride at elevated temperatures.
Heat Treatment
Annealing Temperature: 704°C – 871°C
Cooling Method: Air cooled
Purpose:
Restore ductility
Relieve internal stresses
Enhance machinability
Welding
Nickel 201 is easily welded by:
TIG (GTAW)
MIG (GMAW)
SMAW
Advantages:
No need for preheating
Produces clean, high-quality welds
Post-weld stress relief is optional
Recommended filler metal: Nickel 201 or Nickel 200
Fabrication
Nickel 201 is highly workable and can be:
Hot formed
Cold formed
