ASTM A213 TP444 Stainless Steel Tubes
ASTM A213 TP444 (UNS S44400) is a stabilized, low-carbon ferritic stainless steel tube grade designed for high-temperature and corrosive service environments. This grade contains higher chromium and molybdenum content compared to standard 400-series stainless steels, giving it exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. TP444 tubes are widely used in condensers, heat exchangers, superheaters, and other critical industrial systems operating under continuous thermal stress.
Engineered for superior weldability, oxidation resistance, and long-term structural stability, ASTM A213 TP444 is a preferred material in power plants, chemical processing industries, refineries, seawater systems, and automotive exhaust systems. Its stable ferritic structure ensures excellent thermal conductivity, lower thermal expansion, and dependable performance in chloride-rich solutions.
Key Features
- Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion due to higher Mo content
- Strong resistance to high-temperature oxidation up to 1100°C
- Improved weldability and fabrication properties
- Low thermal expansion and high thermal conductivity
- Ideal for chloride-rich and high-temperature environments
- High structural stability under thermal cycling
