ASTM A213 TP904L (UNS N08904) is a premium austenitic stainless steel tube grade designed to deliver exceptional corrosion resistance in the most aggressive environments. As a low-carbon super austenitic alloy containing high levels of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper, ASTM A213 TP904L offers outstanding resistance to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, and pitting/crevice corrosion. This makes it an ideal choice for chemical, petrochemical, and marine industries requiring long-lasting and reliable tubing solutions.
Compared to standard austenitic grades like TP316L and TP317L, ASTM A213 TP904L provides significantly superior resistance to localized corrosion and maintains excellent mechanical properties even at elevated temperatures. Its low carbon content ensures minimal carbide precipitation during welding, preserving corrosion resistance in welded zones. Additionally, TP904L demonstrates high formability, good weldability, and excellent performance in environments containing strong reducing agents.
