ASTM A269 TP316L Stainless Steel Tubes
ASTM A269 TP316L is a low-carbon variant of the 316 austenitic stainless steel grade, offering superior corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-rich and acidic environments. The “L” grade with reduced carbon content enhances resistance to carbide precipitation during welding, making TP316L ideal for welded structures, sanitary systems, high-purity piping, and corrosive industrial applications.
With excellent strength, smooth finish, and outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion due to molybdenum (Mo) addition, TP316L tubes are widely used in chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food & beverage systems, marine environments, and heat exchanger applications.
Key Features
- Low carbon content for improved weldability
- Superior corrosion resistance in chloride and acidic environments
- Excellent pitting and crevice corrosion resistance (Mo-enhanced)
- High strength and durability
- Smooth internal finish promoting clean fluid transport
- Ideal for sanitary, hygienic, and high-purity applications
- Resistant to intergranular corrosion after welding
