ASTM A269 TP317L Stainless Steel Tubes (UNS S31703)

ASTM A269 TP317L is the low-carbon version of 317 stainless steel, designed to provide outstanding corrosion resistance, especially in chloride-containing environments. As an austenitic stainless-steel grade with higher chromium, nickel, and molybdenum content than 316/316L, 317L offers superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general chemical attack.

The reduced carbon content in TP317L (UNS S31703) minimizes carbide precipitation during welding, making it ideal for applications that demand excellent weldability, corrosion resistance, and durability under severe conditions.

These tubes are widely used in chemical processing, marine environments, pulp & paper plants, and high-purity piping systems.

Key Features

  • Low Carbon Content enhances weldability and reduces risk of sensitization.
  • Superior Corrosion Resistance compared to 316L in aggressive chemical environments.
  • Excellent Pitting & Crevice Corrosion Resistance due to higher molybdenum content.
  • High Strength & Toughness, even at elevated temperatures.
  • Smooth, Clean Inner Surface suitable for sanitary and critical flow applications.
  • Excellent Resistance to Acids, Chlorides & Industrial Chemicals.
  • Meets ASTM A269 Standard ensuring dimensional precision and quality.
