ASTM A333 / SA333 Gr 8 Low Temperature Steel Pipe
ASTM A333 / SA333 Gr 8 covers seamless and welded steel pipes specifically designed for low-temperature service. Unlike the carbon steel grades, Grade 8 contains higher nickel content, which provides exceptional toughness, ductility, and impact resistance in extremely cold environments. This makes it a preferred material for cryogenic applications, LNG plants, and offshore projects where temperatures can fall well below –100°C.
Key Features
- Alloyed with 3.5% nickel for superior cryogenic performance
- Excellent impact strength at very low temperatures
- Available in both seamless and welded types
- Good weldability and workability
- Widely used in cryogenic systems and LNG pipelines
