ASTM A513 4130

ASTM A513 Grade 4130 is a high-strength, low-alloy (HSLA) chromium-molybdenum steel used extensively for mechanical tubing applications requiring excellent toughness, weldability, and uniformity. Known for its superior strength-to-weight ratio, ASTM A513 4130 tubing is manufactured by electric-resistance welding (ERW) and cold-worked to achieve enhanced dimensional accuracy and mechanical performance.
It is widely used in automotive components, hydraulic systems, aircraft parts, performance racing products, agricultural machinery, and other high-stress engineering applications.

Key Features

  • High Strength & Toughness due to Chromium-Molybdenum (Cr-Mo) alloying
  • Excellent Machinability & Weldability
  • Superior Fatigue Resistance for dynamic load conditions
  • Good Hardenability with capacity for heat treatment
  • Tight Dimensional Tolerances due to cold-working
  • Lightweight yet Durable, suitable for weight-sensitive applications
  • High Impact Resistance even at elevated temperatures
