ASTM B466 C71520 Copper Nickel Alloy (UNS C71520)
ASTM B466 C71520 (UNS C71520) is a modified 70/30 copper-nickel alloy specified under ASTM B466 for seamless copper-nickel pipe and tube. This alloy includes controlled additions of iron and manganese to further enhance resistance to seawater corrosion, erosion, and biofouling. Compared to standard C71500, C71520 offers improved strength and durability in high-velocity seawater and aggressive marine environments.
Key Features
- Superior resistance to seawater and brackish water corrosion
- Improved erosion and impingement resistance
- Higher mechanical strength than conventional 70/30 Cu-Ni
- Excellent resistance to biofouling
- Good weldability and fabrication properties
- Long service life in harsh marine conditions
