AISI / SAE 1527 Round Bar (UNS G15270)
AISI / SAE 1527 Round Bar is a high-manganese carbon steel designed for improved strength, toughness, and hardenability compared to standard plain carbon steels. It is commonly used in forged and heat-treated components where good core strength and wear resistance are required.
Key Features
- Higher manganese content for better hardenability
- Good strength and toughness after heat treatment
- Improved wear resistance compared to 1025–1030 steels
- Suitable for carburizing and quench & temper processes
- Good machinability in normalized condition
- Cost-effective alternative to low-alloy steels
