Corrosion Resistance
C11000 copper offers excellent resistance to:
- Atmospheric and marine environments
- Freshwater exposure
- Industrial environments
It naturally forms a protective oxide (patina) layer that enhances durability and lifespan.
Heat Resistance
- Performs efficiently at moderate to high temperatures
- Excellent heat dissipation properties
- Suitable for thermal and electrical systems
Limitation: Not ideal for hydrogen-rich environments due to oxygen content.
Heat Treatment
- Supplied in annealed or work-hardened condition
- Annealing temperature: 400°C – 650°C
- Not hardenable by heat treatment
- Cold working is used to increase strength
Welding
C11000 copper can be welded using:
- TIG (GTAW)
- MIG (GMAW)
- Resistance welding
Note: Oxygen content may cause porosity in reducing atmospheres; proper precautions are required.
Fabrication
- Excellent for bending, forming, and deep drawing
- Easy machining and cutting
- Suitable for polishing and finishing
- Ideal for architectural and decorative use
Applications
